Beethoven's Revenge
Michael Mascagni, Violin
Michael Mascagni is an applied mathematician and computer scientist who plays the violin. He has played with American amateur and professional orchestras in Iowa, New York, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. In addition, he has played with amateur orchestras in Salzburg, Austria and Zürich, Switzerland. He also enjoys playing chamber music, and has done so both in the US and Europe.
Ern Jones, Violin
Ern holds a degree in Music Education from Florida State University, and, believe it or not, played in the Florida State College for Women’s Symphony Orchestra under Walter Cowles and William Presser. He spends his days immersed in music programs as the owner of Tallahassee Academy of Music. He has distinguished himself as the Choral Director for Jacksonville Ribault High School and Music Minister for Northside Baptist Church, Jacksonville. His involvement at First Baptist Church Tallahassee spans 33 years, and includes choir, orchestra and soloist work. Ern is naturally inclined to perform in chamber ensembles and our own community orchestra.
Dan D’Arcangelis, Viola
Dan D'Arcangelis is a computer programmer and recent graduate of Michigan State University. He also enjoys playing the viola. Dan has performed with amateur orchestras in Michigan and most recently, the community orchestra in Tallahassee.
Erin Platt, Cello
If anyone can be accused of having too many interests, it would be Erin. In her spare time, she works at her mother’s second-hand store (ok – here’s a quick plug, mom: GoodFinds! – 3100 S. Adams Street, South of the Main Post Office in Tallahassee), rescues animals in need, or trains for marathons. While she would rather become an international cello superstar and travel the globe, her bread & butter is in association management, where she specializes in website & database management, and performs a wide array of member services on any given day. Her one true joy, though, comes from music and she finds it hard to turn down any opportunity to perform … after all, music is meant to be shared!
