Richard Mattox

Singer-songwriter Richard Mattox won first place (and a trip to New York City) in the 2009 “I Want to Be a Star” competition at Tallahassee’s Downtown Getdowns.  A gifted pianist and guitarist, Mattox has performed at a number of venues throughout the southeast, including the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, the Clemson House Hotel in South Carolina, and the Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre in northern Virginia.

Closer to home, Mattox has performed at Floyd’s Music Store, the University Center Club, the Tallahassee Women’s Club, the Museum of Florida History, the American Legion Hall, and a number of area schools and churches.  Mattox is a vocal student of Dr. Leigh Ashmore Stephenson, a member of Leon High’s Capital Singers, and a company member at Young Actors Theatre.
