Kelly Rysavy

Originally from Wilmington, North Carolina, Kelly currently lives and works in Tallahassee, Florida. She earned her BS degree from Ohio State University in 1984 and moved to South Florida where she made art a full time commitment. She has been involved with many different aspects of the art world from museum shows in the Ft. Lauderdale Art Museum to hotel installations in Costa Rica as well as commercial installations in the Sandals Resorts. After moving to Tallahassee she has continued to work in the commercial end of the industry as well as show in various galleries in and around the Panhandle area. A most recent project was the dry-dock renovation of Royal Caribbean's "Sovereign of the Seas".

She works on canvas in oil and acrylic, but often mixes them with other mediums such as charcoal, graphite and raw pigments to achieve the right mix each piece demands.

"My real love is the art that nature creates right before us". Her florals are amplified and enlarged so the viewer can experience the energy of her vision. By layering colors and sometimes textures the image becomes infused with subtle shadows and a dance of light to draw one into the painting. Kelly can be reached by phone at (850) 566-2522.
